Week 21 – Dog hydrotherapy

An underwater treadmill  for your dog?

We went to our first dog hydrotherapy this week to even out the muscles on Darcy’s hind legs from her dog knee injury.  It was definitely work for her!  She came home exhausted, but not limping.  It’s an interesting device, it basically looks like a large fish tank with a glass door at one end.  You walk your dog through the door and have them face you.  (not the best video ever below, but it will give you and idea.)

Week 20 – No more knee popping!

Yay, my dog has no more knee popping!

Weeks 10 & 11 – Dog Rehabilitation Exercises

Do dog rehabilitation exercises help?

You bet they do!  Darcy’s leg was really atrophied and she was getting sort of bony in general because of her lack of exercise during her recovery.  Now, her leg feels full of muscle again.  And, she seems to enjoy them.

Week 9 – Holistic Vet

Was it worth going to the holistic vet?

You bet it was!  I waited until Darcy was through her first full eight weeks to go to the holistic vet.  I wanted to give her time for her body to heal itself.  But, I felt that I needed some guidance on how she’s doing.  I am so glad I went!
